Property Guide: Buy a Villa in Ubud

How is your investment portfolio looking these days? Are you looking for that one opportunity that could turn into a rainmaker?

A piece of Paradise could be yours today. One of our contacts has revealed that their personal, luxury property is up for sale! It's a huge block of land with two villas, a pool and all sorts of goodies included. Check it out: If you are like me and you like to eat dessert BEFORE your meal, you can also have the "bottom line" NOW:

The Bottom Line: USD $ 500,000 (for a 25 year lease on both villa areas) or, USD $ 1 million for the free-hold. (The price is negotiable). Property Size: 1600 square metres (5249 square feet). Location - Penestanan, Ubud, Bali. Ubud, as you may know, is THE place to be seen in Bali. (Yes, you are correct by the way: Julia Roberts herself was right here, filming the spectacular scenes of her Balinese retreat right here in Ubud, for the hit movie, "Eat, Pray, Love.")

So, Penestanan, as you may know, is THE place to be seen in Ubud.

My point?

If you could buy a villa with plenty of space for guests and the option of being able to build even more gorgeous buildings and structures on the property, would you take the chance?

I would.

Here's Why: Located in the ecologically stunning surroundings of the area of Penestanan, with that total land size of 1600 sqm and a government permit and licence, this property is a gem.

The current owner has been headhunted by a design company in another area of Bali, so, he is reluctantly selling this once-in-a-lifetime place but only to the RIGHT buyer. If you are someone whom will truly appreciate heaven-on-earth, maybe that "right person" could be YOU.

So, you know, the total size of the land is 1600 square metres (5249 square feet). That means that there is plenty of available space for adding more buildings as you like it!

You could turn it into a yoga retreat, a chic, private hotel, a holiday home, your artsy second (or third!) home (or your FIRST! of course!)...The list goes on in terms of what you could create here. Being able to add more buildings means you can expand the number of guests whom can be accommodated...You could really take this opportunity to its full potential with a little planning. Oh and by the way, my birthday is in September so...Just sayin'! (below: This is your slice of Heaven, in a non-touristy-yet-funky part of artsy Ubud, Bali, complete with a private pool.)

Currently, each villa can accommodate up to six guests. If you want to expand on that and add more buildings, go ahead!

Each villa has 2 large bedrooms with en suites, plus large family rooms, a third larger bathroom in each, plus full kitchens and gorgeous gardens with a stunning swimming pool (above). (below: If you love to cook and entertain, you'll love the modern kitchens which, are spotless).

In detail, the current villa-buildings comprise two large L-shaped homes (23 x 19 sqm each). The whole of each place is fully furnished, with modern equipment and facilities.

These are modern style premises with a garden view. As we mentioned, there's also a private pool (and as I love to swim, I will keep mentioning that point as much as possible! Ahhh! So nice...A private pool!) (below: Fully furnished and ready for you to move in!)

You'll also enjoy the air conditioning throughout the interiors, plus TV and Wi-Fi. (below: The villas are tastefully decorated and are fully furnished for your convenience. Everything is as you would need it to be so you can basically move straight in and start enjoying the space and/or running a chic, boutique-style hotel/retreat centre. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination as to how this gorgeous land/houses package can be developed. Note that there is plenty of surrounding land also available which is part of the package, ready for you to add more buildings if you wish!)

You will love the hardwood flooring, the clean, minimalist yet cozy interior decor and the cleanliness. Each villa has two bedrooms with ensuites, safes (for storing your valuable while on vacation and/or for your guests' peace of mind when storing their passports and so on), wardrobes and shelves, three full bathrooms plus large dining areas. Voila! (below: Just bring your suitcase and move in!)

Even for a super-fussy person like me, this place is stunning and will pass even the most OCD cleanliness inspection. Being set in Ubud, you know you will be able to escape the rowdy, boozy backpackers of other areas of Bali and, instead, be amongst the (I think, funkier/nicer) "Eat, Pray, Love" crowd (which is, as I mentioned, THE movie/book that put Ubud on the artsy-in-the-know scene as far as Bali goes) for the more intellectual / sincere, art-loving traveller.

If I sound snooty, well, I'm sorry-not-sorry, but that's honestly how I feel about Ubud. It's. Gorgeous. And. Upscale. Those of you whom have had the chance to already visit will know what I mean. Nothing tacky going on here that's for sure. (below: Chat, linger, write, dream, oh, and eat, pray & love, on the patio!)

There are literally hundreds of quiet, lovely areas for sightseeing (of a lovely, traditional nature) within Ubud and it's something of a mecca for artists and yoga fans. So I'll see you there and maybe I will stop in and see you at these charming villas for a spot of tea, if you happen to snap them up (before someone else does!)

The bottom line again? The price, dear reader, is negotiable and is currently set at approximately USD $ 500,000 (for a 25 year lease on both villa areas) or, USD $ 1 million for the free-hold.
